(From L to R: Heather Bradley, Lori Hill, Mississippi Public Safety Commissioner Sean Tindell,Mallory Pickering, Amanda Dollar, and LaNelle Weems, MSN, RN, Executive Director of the Mississippi Center for Quality and Workforce at the Mississippi Hospital Association)

All four MSAHT staff members were delighted to attend and represent MSAHT at the Mississippi Hospital Association’s Annual Opioid Summit this month in Philadelphia, Miss. The team is grateful to MSAHT friend and partner Lanelle Weems for inviting them to learn more about addiction and what is being done in both public and private spheres to protect and restore those who suffer from it.

We know from the research that those who struggle with substance abuse are more vulnerable to being trafficked, and it becomes more and more clear that we need stakeholders from various areas of expertise to come together in order to effectively enhance the safety of our citizens.

One of the event’s speakers was Sean Tindell, Mississippi Public Safety Commisssioner. The MSAHT team looks forward to speaking with Commissioner Tindell again in the future about the insidious problem of human trafficking that jeopardizes the safety of all Mississippians.
