New Chief Executive Officer Appointed at Merit Health Biloxi

Merit Health Biloxi has named Travis Sisson as the hospital’s new Chief Executive Officer (CEO) effective November 28, 2022.

Sisson has more than 20 years of healthcare leadership experience, most recently serving as Chief Operating Officer (COO) of Longview Regional Medical Center in Longview, Texas. In this
role and throughout his career, he has led service line development, recruited physicians to grow services locally and supported efforts to enhance quality of care.

“Travis is an excellent choice to lead Merit Health Biloxi,” says Rob Briscoe, Chair, Merit Health Biloxi Board of Trustees. “With extensive experience in the healthcare industry, he has
demonstrated an ability to guide hospitals through new changes and initiatives, and create strong relationships with employees, physicians and local communities.”

Prior to his role at LRMC, Sisson was CEO at Merit Health Batesville in Batesville, MS where he was instrumental in leading the hospital through Joint Commission accreditation and the launch
of new service lines. He has also served in executive and operational roles for hospitals in Mississippi, Alabama, North Carolina and Louisiana.

“The dedication and commitment of the physicians, employees and trustees at Merit Health Biloxi is wonderful to see,” said Sisson. “I look forward to joining their efforts in continuous
improvement of quality care and the patient experience.”

Sisson holds a Bachelor of Science from the University of Alabama in Tuscaloosa and an MBA from the University of Alabama in Birmingham. He has been an active member of several
community and civic organizations and looks forward to becoming involved in the Biloxi community.
