WEBINAR: The CMS Hospital Infection Control Worksheet

The CMS Hospital Infection Control Worksheet Changes and Antibiotic Stewardship

Course Curriculum

Infection control is hit hard during a hospital survey, so every facility should have a full-working familiarity with the CMS interpretive guidelines, as well as the proposed changes for assessing compliance with the infection control Conditions of Participation (CoPs).

This presentation will explain what staff need to do to be ready for surveyors, and will provide them with a better understanding of the CMS infection control interpretative guidelines and worksheet. This program will also discuss the proposed infection control standards and changes, including the requirement to have an antibiotic stewardship program. Our presenter will also review important memos on infection control issues from CMS, ISMP IV guidelines and safe injection practices issues, and other facets of this worksheet.

Learning Objectives
1. Discuss the memos on infection control issues.
2. Identify the infection control worksheet tracer on indwelling urinary catheters.
3. Explain the CMS requirements for safe injection practices and sharps safety.
4. Discuss the infection control worksheet section on hand hygiene tracer.
