WEBINAR: CMS New Discharge Planning & Burden Reduction Rules


Course Curriculum

On Nov. 29 CMS’s new Final Rules, Revisions to Discharge Planning Requirements and the Omnibus Burden Reduction Conditions of Participation (CoPs), go into effect. This course will discuss the discharge planning and burden reduction rules including a discussion of the changes to the Medicare Conditions of Participation and the legal impact of the new rules on hospitals, including critical access hospitals (CAHs). This course will also provide operational insights and practical considerations for hospitals implementing these changes for the first time. In addition, this course will highlight ongoing monitoring techniques to help ensure hospitals remain compliant with the new discharge planning and burden reduction requirements.

H. Carol Saul, Partner, Arnall Golden Gregory LLP

H. Carol Saul is a partner in AGG's health care practice and co-chairs its hospitals and health systems team. Ms. Saul's practice focuses on regulatory counseling to private equity investors in the health care sector and to a broad range of providers: hospitals, academic medical centers, physical therapy, home health, hospice, and assisted living. Her areas of focus include the Stark Law, the Anti-Kickback Statute and other federal and state fraud and abuse laws, compliance counseling, privacy and security (HIPAA/HITECH Act), health regulatory due diligence and Medicare/Medicaid reimbursement matters.
