The Mississippi Hospital Equipment and Facilities Authority (MHEFA) is the premier health care financing vehicle in Mississippi. Created by the Legislature in 1983, MHEFA's statutory authority is derived from 41-73-1 et. seq. of the Mississippi Code of 1972, as amended. MHEFA is governed by a seven-member board appointed by the Governor with the advice and consent of the Senate. MHEFA's day-to-day operations are administered by the Mississippi Hospital Association.
