Today’s Healthcare Consumer presents new challenges for healthcare providers, as patients continue to be faced with an increased responsibility in healthcare costs, forcing them to “shop” services, which creates a need for meaningful and readily accessible price transparency. The Centers for Medicare and Medicaid Services (CMS) Price Transparency Requirements implemented on January 1st, 2021, are presenting logistical challenges for providers. Recent surveys have shown more than 50% of hospitals are out of compliance with these requirements putting each institution at risk of severe penalties.
